We are all walking each other home

5 June 2019 0 Comment(s)

Today, as I searched for some meditation tracks I had created a few years back (in the hope to share them with you all), I found an old poem that never saw the light. I decided to share it with you and remind you that we are all surrounded by people who are walking us back home (to ourself). The good, the bad, the ugly…all have underneath it all, the same purpose. (in my humble opinion)  🙂

Thank you for being who you are

And for not changing your truth to please me.

Thank you for insisting that you are right

And for picking an argument with me.

Thank you for having the courage to look me in the eyes

And telling me that you hate me.

Thank you for holding my hands when I needed you most

And telling me what a great person I was.

Thank you for believing in me.

Thank you for criticising me.

Thank you for smiling back at me and for ignoring me completely.

Thank you for staying in touch and for getting caught up in your world and forgetting me.

Whoever you are

Whatever you have ever done

Whether it pleased me or hurt me, thank you.

Thank you for showing me that only through my relationship with you

I can see myself.

Thank you for showing me I’m neither what you see, neither what you don’t.

Thank you for setting me free.

Thank you for helping me let go of the image I created of myself and of you.

Thank you for helping me unlock the prison that held us both.

Thank you for showing me that there is no box that can contain me or you

And that we are – you and I –

Lovers of this dance that moves us all.
