Navigating Change Overview
Supporting You Through Life's Transitions
After decades of teaching the principles and practices of Yoga and Tai Chi, we began to notice a common thread in our work. Many of the people coming to us were navigating periods of change in their lives and needed support to do so with greater stability, clarity and ease.
People come to this work during many different kinds of life changes and transitions, including:
- Stress & overwhelm (high pressure at work, exams, caregiving, major life events, chronic busy-ness, menopause)
- Depletion & burnout (fatigue, emotional numbness, low motivation, inability to recover)
- Identity change (new role - becoming a parent, retirement, relationship changes, illness, bereavement)
As awareness of the body, breath and mind begins to grow, something fundamental starts to shift. What once felt inaccessible – the nervous system – gradually becomes familiar territory. Self-regulation moves from an abstract idea to a practical, embodied experience.
Life is in constant flux and no matter how much we may try to resist this, change is its most defining characteristic. Hence, our ability to navigate change with greater ease goes hand in hand with our ability to experience enjoyment, meaning and connection in life.
Because the nature of change varies greatly, the way we offer support also differs. For some experiences such as loss, illness or grief, One to One Support may be more appropriate. For others, including new parents, people navigating hormonal change or those preparing for major life events, group settings can offer both structure and shared support.
Alongside ongoing classes, we periodically offer 4–6 week group courses designed specifically to support periods of stress and overwhelm.
