The Prophet Kahlil Gibran (Audio CD) mp3 or m4a
Narrated by Dorna Djenab
An MP3 or M4a version of selected poems by Kahlil Gibran from The Prophet narrated by Dorna Djenab: Love, Marriage, Children, Freedom, Work, Giving, Prayer, Friendship, Death, Joy, Pleasure, Reason and Passion, Crime, and Pain. The accompanying background music, thoughtfully chosen from Karunesh’s collection, enhances the experience with its soothing melodies, creating a deeply relaxing, heart-lifting ambience that complements Gibran’s profound messages and timeless wisdom.
Narrating this CD was one of the most enjoyable tasks I ever took on. It made me realise how true the words of Howard Thurman are: Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and do it. Because what the world needs is people who come alive.
With the encouragement of many who watched my YouTube videos, the birth of this project came into being. As I began recording, I found that, while I read and reread the poems, I felt myself tuning in to the pulse of life, and in doing so, I felt my soul dancing; for that, I am ever so grateful. Indeed, this illustrates the power of poems that have sprouted from the heart of life itself. They resonate deeply, striking a note in the heart of the listener until music begins to dance through the soul. Furthermore, Kahlil Gibran’s words are particularly powerful, as they stem from an honest heart and an inquisitive mind. As you read or hear his words, you recognise that he was a man genuinely involved and fascinated with life, and it is my sincere hope that his passion will strike a chord in your heart, reminding you of the beauty of existence.
